Roast dog - not for the squeamish.

On my way to meet Freya yesterday, I popped into the covered market.  I have only been there once.  Having worked in Waitrose where the standards are exceptionally high, the food hygiene in the market is to say the least frightening!  Lumps of meat are left on uncovered on open wooden boards, with no cooling system.  I daren't think where it is kept at night.  There seems to be a lack of seriously ill people as a result of food poisoning.  Maybe you just get used to it!  Today I wandered to the live animal section of the market.  There were allsorts of live animals in cakes, mainly chicken, and various seafoods.  In one of the  'shops' there was a woman who was cooking/charring meat with a calor gas roofing tool. She had just finished some pork when I arrived.  It is on the floor just in fornt of the man in the foreground.  The floor was covered in dried blood.

As I was watching, a guy came out from the back of the shop with a newly cooked (roasted) dog.  It was still steaming.  He dumped it on a board on the pavement.  I 'll not describe any further, you can draw your own conclusions.  No one was phased by it.  They noticed me and made remarks.  I was not happy photographing openly, although no one seemed to mind, so the picture quality is lacking...maybe that is a good thing.
