Back to the earlier job and WeChat

After today's interview, one of my earlier contacts got in touch with me as I had sent him a request on Sunday.  We cleared up a few questions and he promised to put me in touch with a contact at the proposed school and send me a contract.  Meanwhile two other job agents/companies have been in touch and I need to start logging what is happening or I will lose track!
 As for WeChat, I wish it would sync between my PC and my phone, like it used to.  Apparently the messages are not now kept on a server...for my privacy.  It is a real nuisance having half the messages on my phone and half on my PC.

A strange evening doing dancing for tiktok in Fanjingshan Park.

I had finished my work for the conference, I'd been indoors too long, so I went for a walk.  I greeted a few friends on the way and walked past the beef noodle bar.  Just as I was passing came the now familiar "meiguoren" call.  It means American and everyone expects every foreigner to be that.  "Bu shi meiguoren shi yinguoren" (I am not American I'm English).  A father and mother and their two small sons stopped and stared.  I went over and said a few words.  They must have been 'out-of-towners' as they understood my Mandarin!  They asked if they could take a few photos with their sons.  Of course! I asked them if they had eaten.  They said they had not.  Then there was obviously a misunderstanding and we said goodbye.  I think they thought I was trying to cadge a free dinner from them!  I wandered back to the noodle shop and ate some noodles and went for a walk. A bit of singing and some chicken feet

Today I woke up at 5.oo am.. not on purpose, but these things happen.  So I went to school to have breakfast.  Thin rice noodles, a sort of savoury bun and an egg! 5 yuan.  I then went to the office to eat.  I finished my breakfast and wandered around the school talking to kids as they dis their early morning reading.  Some were studying English, so I read the passages to them.  I suggested that they record what I said as it might help their pronunciation.  They leapt at the offer, but noted that my pronunciation was not like the American that they were used to. I then went to the music room.  I had discovered this yesterday at the far end of the 'roof'.  I went inside and spoke to a couple of the girls.  They asked if I could play the piano, haha, I said no but played a bad version of chopsticks!  I asked if they could sing..silly question really: I think you can see that the answer was "Yes!"
