Strange foods - well at least for foreigners, and plastic gloves

 KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken I'll start with KFC ( Kentucky Fried Chicken).  There is not a franchise in Jiangkou.  However, the ever resourceful Chinese do have something similar:  VFC. ...the stuff it sells is similar, except the burgers are possibly not 100% pure chicken breast and that's why Chinese people like bones in their meat...at least is is more likely to be meat if it has a bone!  Not sure what the Chinese writing on the logo means 'bis sheng ji' are the letters which I think is some play on words as chicken is also pronounced  as 'ji' but it is a different letter.  If I find out, I'll update the page, or if a Chinese person reads it, please comment below!  Oh! and another strange thing instead of those little wet wipes to clean your hands after eating KFC you get plastic gloves instead.  Weird for me, but but normal in China! and very practical too as many Chinese eating places have no toilet or washing facilities. ...

Childrens day - part three

Having escaped the park, Anna took me to a restaurant that she had been to before.  It was  a big place with a stage and screen!  When we arrived there was a table full of kids.  We sat at a table away from the main room, but it was too late.  We had been spotted.   They came to see the foreigners! ...about twenty of them! . They helped us order food, which was helpful, but they were so excited and just hung around.  The food arrived. many strange and unusual things.  The big bowl is chicken and sweetcorn soup.  We all know that form the UK ...yes?  Well this was slightly different!  Look what I found! ...quite a delicacy I'm told!  Well I had to try didn't I! Well the coxcomb was quite easy to eat.  The texture was quite pleasant and not at all rubbery.  The brain however didn't taste too good, kind of 'popped' when I bit it, and it was quite bitter.  BUT not as bitter as the pink stuff!  Th...
