Childrens day - part three

Having escaped the park, Anna took me to a restaurant that she had been to before.  It was  a big place with a stage and screen!  When we arrived there was a table full of kids.  We sat at a table away from the main room, but it was too late.  We had been spotted.   They came to see the foreigners! ...about twenty of them!
. They helped us order food, which was helpful, but they were so excited and just hung around.  The food arrived.

many strange and unusual things.  The big bowl is chicken and sweetcorn soup.  We all know that form the UK ...yes?  Well this was slightly different!  Look what I found!
...quite a delicacy I'm told!  Well I had to try didn't I! Well the coxcomb was quite easy to eat.  The texture was quite pleasant and not at all rubbery.  The brain however didn't taste too good, kind of 'popped' when I bit it, and it was quite bitter.  BUT not as bitter as the pink stuff!  That was like the very bitter children's sweet called toxic waste, but pickled in salt!  All fun.  The boss was happy to see us both.  Yes I performed on the stage, and yes there is a video in existence but at the time of writing I don't have it!...honest!  The boss liked us!
just after this, a gang of maybe twenty 15 year old boys arrived and started drinking beer and the local 'bai jiu' ( a strong clear spirit).  It seemed a good time to leave.  FYI, as far as I know, there is no 'legal age' to drink in China.  You can drink alcohol at any age.  The boys were not badly behaved and were very friendly, but we had had enough of children for one day!
