He said it broke his heart - but he shared it anyway!

I am really fond of the kids here now.  I sometimes come into school early and bring some little spicy snacks from the hot food seller outside the school.  The kids love it, because most of them are resident and aren't allowed out.  Today when I told them that I was unwell.  They brought me little snacks and a couple of cold remedies.
At the end of the lesson there were a few minutes remaining.  One of the boys tapped me on the shoulder and said he wanted to share with me a video.  He went to the board and set it up.  It was a rap video about Hong Kong, contrasting the images of violence, with the ordinary citizens clearing up the rubble.  Throughout the track was the message that this was their home.

The video is also on you tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eSYMDJgrzXw

He asked me that I thought.  I was almost in tears.  I embraced him.  He then played a funny video about Trump!.  Later I wrote him a letter for him and his class and gave it to them. These kids love China and the Hong Kong problems do break their hearts, and when their hearts are broken, so is mine.  They are lovely kids!
