The steps still go to nowhere, but it seems that someone or something has been using them and whoever owns them does not want this to happen. The steps have been blocked off at the bottom, so you can't use them.

The after picture I took on my way to the park to do some dancing. I got to the park, danced a Little, chatted very briefly with the mum of Little xiao xiao form yesterday and headed home for an early night, after all I'd been up since 5 am and missed out on my midday nap!.. but here in Jangkou things have a habit of going differently than expected.
Id nearly reached home and was passing the woodshop man's shop, when a head poked out of a window and a voice shouted "Michael!". It was the woodshop man. I was completely knackered but traipsed over to the shop. There were a few people inside drinking tea. Not sure how many because people kept coming and going! Eventually we settled at six. Eating local peaches and drinking green tea.

The final six (I'm the sixth and not in the picture) The guy a the right front of the picture is the 'big boss'. He likes me. |
One of the guys that was there was the principal from the (very) local school. I have passed it several times but was not sure what it was! Apparently he is good friends with the principal from my school and want to offer me work in his school. I agreed to a visit, as his term starts before mine. Could be a difficult time juggling jobs now, but we shall see, after all I don't want to work too hard! Strangely at half past nine on a Friday evening right in the middle of all of this, I got an 'urgent phonecall' from my boss at my school asking for details of my contract, my date of birth, and my religion. I've given these details so many times and had everything photocopied hundreds of times. I asked why. Mr XXXX her boss had just rang her and asked for them...apparently the Education Department had just rang him....all on a Friday night in the middle of the holidays. China still puzzles me. I have a work permit and a residence permit and a thorough medical and a contract, but the Education Department have not details of this. Yup China still puzzles me.
