Another free meal!

I had been out for a fair part of the day.  Got my haircut, nad had done some shopping.  I headed home, reviewed a translation for Angela and fell asleep.  I awoke hot and thirsty and a bit grumpy.  Too long in the sun.  I'm learning, but oh so slowly!  Anyhow, I was just getting ready to go out when I got a text.  "Do you want to come for a walk?". Well I didn't really, so I said I was going to eat.  She said she'd treat me.  I said she's treated me too much, and she came back with the 'Chinese stock answer.  It's OK.  We are friends.  I waited but heard nothing.  So off I popped to the park...I could do with a dance first.  Just as I arrived I got a text asking me where I was.  I took a picture of the park and sent it to her.  Then went into the park.  The dances were simple so I joined in for a while.  When I turned round there were two SWAT guys behind me.  They have recently started to patrol the park.  The guy on the left was staring at me.  I looked him in the eye and smiled.  No reaction, so I walked off and did a little more dancing and headed out to this place I know where the food is just that bit different.  Just as I crossed the road, I got another where are you message.  I took a photograph and sent it.  Restaurant boss lady turned up with a friend and I jumped into the car.  After asking me what I wanted to eat, she took me to an all you can eat restaurant, told me to sit down, and got me too much food.  I ate enough and we walked off back to her car.

my meal

my hosts ... restaurant boss lady is on the right.
Then we drove off to Fanjingshan.  Sing along Karioke on the onboard 'TV'

As usual we went by back roads, and what appeared to be field tracks, then all of a sudden, like a fairytale there was this huge illuminated pagoda in teh m,iddle of the forest!I tried to take pictures, but they just didnt turn out.

Eventually we arrived 'somewhere'.  It was a long street absolutely FULL of restaurants, one after the other, all with big pictures of the food they were serving, perhaps this was for the benefit of foreigners, and many with fishtanks outside which were full of fish.  Presumably for eating.  Pick your own.  Photography was so dificult becasue it was nightime and everything was lit with really bright neon lights whilst everything around was dark.

We eventually got to as far as we could go in this road as many cars were now double parked and blocked the road. We parked up and got out.  We went to the end of the stret and into an oen eating area.  There were some amazing 'root chairs' here.  We sat on them for a while. I then noticed that restaurant boss lady was wearing what looked like 'Nike Air' sandals...never seen those before.  Maybe they are a common site in the UK but not in Dorchester where I live!

Anyhow, after a short time they both wanderes off.  When they returned, it was time to go.  So we went back to the car and back, backed up the street and to the pagoda.  There we got out of the car and wilst restaurant boss lady went of to look for the freind she had come to visit.  I took a few photos and we drove home.  As I got out the car it was raining, but I had my umbrella.  Sorted.
this was like another litlle village, but it had a pagoda at end of the street and lots and lots of neon!
